katy & brian | kansas city engagement

Katy and Brian's story began with a simple high school field party.  High school and early-college dating ensued, but life took these two their separate ways.  SIX years later (not to mention the tireless plotting of mutual friends and the added convenience of communicating via Facebook), they reconnected while they were back in their hometown of Wichita for the holidays.  From that point on, there's been no doubt in their minds that they're with exactly who they're supposed to be with...Brian crafted a proposal that would take place on the same property where they met all those years ago.  Though it's still owned by the same family, it looks notably different nearly a decade later.  He brought her out to the property (through a sneaky stop en route to a "family gathering"), asked if she knew where they were, and proposed.  Katy's brilliant photographer sister-in-law, Mollie Wetta, collaborated with Brian to document the proposal!  They continued on to the family gathering/engagement party that Brian had waiting for them...We started our shoot at the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, and I love the gorgeous view it offers of downtown KC. It was a chilly day, and Katy was amazing enough to rock it out in her darling dress.  We gladly welcomed an intermission at Union Station for a little warm-up, though!Katy Flyer! We finished up at Loose Park....  Gosh, Kansas City really is pretty awesome! Glorious fall!Gorgeous, Katy!Congrats, you two!  Can't wait for the wedding!
