katy & brian | the wedding
Going back to Kansas for Katy and Brian's wedding, I didn't particularly expect a gorgeous winter wonderland that I might shooting here in the Rocky Mountains. But that's just what we got, and it was a beautiful way to begin their marriage and close out 2012. Katy and Brian know how to throw a party, so it was a great fit for them to have a New Year's Eve wedding...followed by many, many fun anniversaries in the years to come!Huge thanks to Mollie Wetta, Katy's sister-in-law, for sending these two my way! I was fortunate to have my husband, Casey, along to shoot with me, and his images are marked with a small white pine tree...Katy and Brian met and started dating in high school, so she chose to wear the same perfume she wore in high school for the wedding!Brian's gift to her:Katy's gift to him: Thank you, Katy & Brian, for braving the snow for a few photos!I love this series Casey caught of a flower girl doing her best to help with boutonnieres...This was seriously one of my favorite ideas that I've seen at a wedding recently! Katy and Brian harnessed the power of the hashtag to round up friends' and family's photos from the wedding weekend - brilliant. So stunning, Katy! After the beautiful, evening ceremony at Blessed Sacrament, we continued on to one of Wichita's premiere event spaces, ABODE Venue. We were head over heels for this space! The party was so fun, and the buildup to midnight is a New Year's Eve we won't forget!Congratulations, Katy & Brian!
